The programme is operated and co-ordinated by the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce (FEE member for Ireland).
St. Senan's NS began working on the Green Schools Programme in 2019. The first theme was Litter and Waste and the school was awarded the flag in May 2020 following a visit by the Green-Schools judges . The pupil-led Committee worked to identify the ways in which the whole school can reduce the amount of litter and waste generated in school. All classes play an active role in the Green Schools programme and learn more about the environment, fostering a sense of responsibility and pride in our school and wider community. A great achievement by the Committee!
